I have grown to love all of my dance students from ages 2 through adult like my own family.  Each year brings fresh faces along with familiar ones (even the children of students I once taught) and with them new joys and memories to be made...my family continues to grow.  I couldn't ask for anything more.

I have been enjoying dance since I have started at the age of three, and started dancing competitively at the age of twelve- which I thoroughly enjoyed. Through dance I found my own voice, and started my own choreography pieces in Middle School that of which have won multiple talent shows. I live for all aspects of dance. Dance is an evolving form of art, with new styles being discovered or invented daily. As a student I always pushed myself to think outside the box and portray steps as if it were the observer living through my enacted emotions. Professionally I have studied under choreographers such as Benji Schwimmer, Stephan “Twitch” Boss, Mia Michaels, Tyce Diorio, Joe Tremaine, Nick Drago, Doug Caldwell, Tabitha and Napolean D’umo (NabbyTabs), Kevin Maher, Laura Edwards, and many more. I was selected for the Tremaine Elite Tour Team in 2007 and 2008, Shock the Intensive Showcase in 2008, Monsters of HipHop in 2009 for the Top Select Teen Monsters Showcase, and many more. I have taken numerous classes at the Alvin Ailey Center in NYC for extensive training in African styles, Modern, and Hip Hop. Throughout yearly regional and national competitions, I have received many judicial and top placement awards. I withhold the highest integrity of hard work, humbleness and perseverance all of which I instill into anyone I get to mentor as an instructor. In order to grow as a dancer, you must grow as an artist from within your own soul. I am professionally trained and passionate in the following areas of dance: ballet, pointe, tap, funky tap, jazz, jazz-funk, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and contemporary fusion. I instruct class on an artistic level, allowing students to learn improvisational techniques and express themselves wholeheartedly. I greatly focus on qualities that enhance not only the mind but the overall technique and artistry of the dancer. I just recently graduated St. Joseph’s College and received a Bachelor’s of Science with a major concentration in Biology and minor in Chemistry. I am on the road to pursuing a BSN in Nursing, and a Master’s in Nursing to practice as a Nurse Practitioner. I am very excited to be teaching at Fran’s Fancy Feet, and I look forward to meeting all the new and returning students!

I have been Dancing Since I was 2 and I have been Competing since I was 3. I am trained in and have Danced Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop. I also teach Ballet Technique, Competition Prep and Leaps and Turns. I Choereograch and coach Many soloists and competition Teams.

JILLIAN aNDERSON  (Ms. JILL)

I have been dancing since I was 2 years old at Fran’s Fancy Feet.  My recreational dance laid the foundation for me to competitively dance.  I enjoy all types of dance styles—tap, hip-hop, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and contemporary.  I have been a student teacher and substitute teacher at the studio since 2012 and attribute my training and cultivation of the love of dance to Francine Dupre´, Director of Fran’s Fancy Feet.  Recently, I graduated from Suffolk County Community College where I received an A.A.S. Degree in Dietetic Technology.  I look forward to the future where I can apply my knowledge of nutrition while continuing to teach and help others to be active and express themselves through music and dance.

Melissa Burns  (Ms. melissa)

I have been dancing from the age of 6.  I officially began dance instruction at 17, at the studio where I first learned to dance. In 1991,    after graduating college, I went for my masters in reading and began my first teaching assignment in a private school at age 21.  In 1996, with my masters completed; I opened Fran's Fancy Feet, attended adult dance classes, began a new teaching assignment in a public school and married Jerry Dupre'.  The past 18 years I  have been teaching first and now second grade and have loved every minute of it!

I currently instruct:  Recreational and Competitive Tap, Jazz and Hip-Hop for ages 2 and up and Recreational Ballet and Pointe for ages 2 through teen.

During the past 20 years I have been blessed many times over, from teaching school full time to dance instruction at my own studio.  My parents (Lucie & Jack) and my husband Jerry have always been there helping, supporting and loving me and for that I am truly grateful.  With all of this, nothing can compare to the blessing of my four beautiful children.  Jordan, Bailey, Lexi and Addyson have brought Jerry and I more joy than we could ever imagine.
